Explanation:
In some high use cases the grooves in the extrusion that lock the latch pin can deform over time. After the grooves have deformed the motor may not stay latched in the deployed position. The motor unlatching during use is a nuisance and not a safety risk. To eliminate this occurrence, reinforcing tabs are riveted to the inside latch area of the extrusions. The part number for the reinforced base extrusion assembly with the tabs installed is 2778622.
To accommodate the reinforcing tabs, the E-rings that secure the latch pin must be at the center of the steering housing. Latch pin 2202626 has properly located E-ring slots. If the original steering housing is functional only replace the latch pin. If the steering housing must be replaced, 2997029 is a steering housing with the correct latch pin.
