Explanation:
The Ulterra Cam Arm indicates to the Main Control Board when the Ulterra is latched in the deployed position. Corrosion of metal components, typically in saltwater environments, has caused binding preventing free movement of the Cam arm or direct damage to the Cam Arm. When this occurs the Cam Arm fails to properly indicate the Ulterra’s position, which can keep the user from deploying, trimming or otherwise using the Ulterra. The latest revision of the Cam Arm (Picture D) does not use those metal components which has eliminated corrosion issues.
The Cam Arm is located on the right (starboard) side of the Base Extrusion behind the Motor Ramp. Remove the Right Sideplate and Motor Ramp to inspect the Cam Arm as shown in Image A.
If the freshwater or saltwater (RT) Ulterra has a stainless steel Truss Head Screw in the Cam Arm, as shown in Image B or Image C, replace it with the new Cam Arm Kit (2777903 Cam Magnet ASM) shown in image D.
Kit #2777903, shown in image D, contains a new molded Cam Arm, a Polymer Shoulder Bolt (2203510) and Torsion spring (2042711).
Warranty Claims filed for completing the installation of 2777903 will be honored on any motor with serial number prior to V036MK#####.
