Explanation:
Dimensional tolerance ranges of parts used on BT Talons occasionally allowed slack on the retraction cable of 10’ and 12’ Talons when the Talon was fully extended (as is done for deep water rinse, and other suggested maintenance). If slack in the retraction cable develops it may be possible for the cables to overlap on the wrap drum, overlapped cables can prevent Talon extension and retraction.
When cable overlap occurs the cables are damaged; unfortunately replacing the cables with identical length cables (Kits 2887522 or 2887524) may allow a repeat of this problem. To ensure this repair is proper the length of the retraction cable was shortened by 1.38”, using kits 2887505 or 2887506 will eliminate any opportunities to introduce slack into the cable system of the 10’/12’ BT Talon.
If you have any of 2887522, CABLE RPLCMNT KIT 10' TALON BT, or 2887524, CABLE RPLCMNT KIT 12' TALON BT in your inventory please let Minn Kota Customer Service know via aschotline@johnsonoutdoors.com and replacement with the new kits 2887505 and 2887506 will be arranged.
This does not affect 8’ and 15’ Talons.
