Description
In this session you will:
- Access the key components of PowerDrive and Terrova Motors.
- Evaluate and Disassemble/reassemble a steering Housing.
Hands-on Tasks:
- Review GPS control board/steering connections on PowerDrive. Note why it is not possible to switch between foot pedal and GPS Control.
- On PowerDrive Remove and Reinstall Pivot Pads, Steering Housing, and Control Board.
- While PowerDrive Steering Housing is removed remove the lower casting to view internal workings.
- Direct Test Terrova Steering Housing.
- Remove and Reinstall Terrova Control Board and Steering Housing.
Key Concepts:
- Steering housings should be direct tested at 12 volts, looking for 1 amp or less. Terrova, Ultrex, and Ulterra Steer at higher voltages, but this test is a good test on all models.
- PowerDrive cannot be readily changed from foot pedal control to GPS control, it is either Foot Pedal or hand held remote.
- Steering Housing repairs are possible on Terrova and PowerDrive, but when labor and parts are considered fully in warranty our preference is steering housing replacement, out of warranty it is possible to make more for your shop while charging the consumer less by repairing rather than replacing steering housings.
- 2018-2023 Terrova included a lift assist spring. To safely handle this spring the motor should always be in the stowed position to install or remove the lower collar.
- 87” RT Terrova has a reinforced Mounting Extrusion.
