Key Concepts:
- How the clutch operates can be confusing to first time users. It ratchets in the up direction, running the handle in the down direction immediately starts loosening the clutch rather than back driving the spool
- Clutch component parts have been unchanged for a very long time.
- Spool on Manual Downriggers must have all the cable removed to access the set screw that connects the spool to the output shaft.
- Counter is gear driven, the Spool Gear and Counter Gear need to be matched and correct readings.
- Cannon Warranty is Limited Lifetime on most of the plastic parts, 1 year on control boards and electronics. The cable, terminator, clutch pads and most of the other items that are wear components have no warranty.
- Limited Lifetime means the lifetime of the original owner, the warranty is not transferrable
- The frame parts for older downriggers are not in stock. If you do have a customer that can establish that they are the original owner they should contact us for arranging discount on a new unit.
