Labor Allowances Effective January 6, 2024

In-Warranty Repair Labor Allowances & Information

  • If the service required is extensive and your estimate to perform the repair is half the cost of a new unit, please contact the ASC Hotline at 800-558-8088 prior to the repair to discuss available options.
  • The online reimbursement claim submission process allows for up to 2 warranty repair allowances per warranty claim.
  • Parts that were sent to the repair center by the factory, but prove to be defective when used, must be returned to the factory with an explanation for replacement at no charge.
  • Parts sold over the counter to the consumer do not have a warranty.
  • Parts installed by an Authorized Service Provider have a 90-Day Warranty
  • Labor for installation or removal of the Minn Kota Product from a boat is the consumer’s responsibility.
  • Warranty timeframes start from the original date of purchase for the original purchaser.
  • Serial Numbers with “PT” in them refer to Prototype models. Please do not service prototypes. Refer the customer back to where they received the prototype from.

Warranty Time Frames

  • Ultrex models carry a 3-year warranty and lifetime warranty on the steering cables. All other new Minn Kota motors since 2010 have a 2-year warranty. Factory Reconditioned motors (FR Serial Numbers) carry a 1-year warranty. The warranty covers parts and labor of any manufacturing defects.
  • Lifetime Shaft Warranty – Includes Composite Shafts, Ultrex Steering Cables, and Talon & Raptor Spikes.
    • If within the factory warranty, Minn Kota will cover parts and labor
    • Outside the factory warranty, Minn Kota will cover the part and the consumer is responsible for the labor.
  • Marine Accessories:
    • Battery Chargers have a 3-year replacement warranty. Consumers should be directed to call 800-227-6433. Battery Chargers are not serviceable.
    • Co-Pilot Systems have a 2-year warranty
    • DeckHand units have a 2-year warranty
    • i-Pilot & i-Pilot Link accessories have a 2-year warranty
    • Raptor & Talon Bluetooth shallow water anchors have a 5-year warranty and a lifetime warranty on the Spike.
      • Talon shallow water anchors with a serial number prior to M275MK had a 2-year warranty and lifetime on the Spike.
      • Talon (non-Bluetooth) have a 5-year mechanical warranty, 2-year electrical, and lifetime on the Spike.

Copy of proof of purchase should be provided for warranty verification if the Serial Number date  indicates the product is past the warranty period. Please keep a copy for your records in case it is requested.
