In this session you will:

  • Understand operation of Transom Motors
  • Learn isolation testing of control boards and lower units.
  • Examine mechanical components of Transom Brackets

Hands-On Tasks:

  • Remove and Reinstall T-Bar on 10 Position Lever Lock Bracket
  • Disassemble Traxxis Bracket
  • VOM Test Control Board output with Lower Unit
    • Connected and Without Lower Unit Connected
  • Test Control Board output with Test light.
  • Run Lower Unit Direct on each Model. On Endura 5 speed motor test speed coil function by independently connecting the White, Yellow and Red Motor wires to Power Supply + while the Black Motor wire is connected to Power Supply -.

Key Concepts:

  • Isolation Testing is the basic method of troubleshooting. Identify what components are involved in an operation and to the greatest degree possible directly test the function of each component individual.
  • T-Bar is weakest component in the 10 position bracket; it is what will break on impact. It does not break in normal use so the assumption should be that T-Bar replacement is not warranty.
